However, Manny’s ties to the Westside and an ailing family member brought him back to Taft as he decided to forgo that opportunity.
Once in Taft, Manny worked for the family business until he was hired as the Assistant Business Manager at the Taft Correctional Institution. He served for 3 ½ years in Taft, and joined the Taft Chamber as a Director, Kiwanis Club of Taft as a member and the Taft College Oversight Committee until he promoted to West Texas as a Business Manager. It was in Pecos Texas that he earned Business Manager of the Year award in 2007 as the Business Manager operating the largest Private Correctional Facility in the world. In 2008 he was transferred to the Rio Grande Detention Center in Laredo Texas and from there, in 2010, he promoted back to the West as the Assistant Director of Business for The Geo Group Inc. working out of the Los Angeles regional office and managing 40+ west coast facilities and budgets above $400m.
In 2013, Manny retired from the Prison Industry and opened up Monarch Fleet Services & Automotive going on to expand to pre-owned vehicle sales a year later. Manny was selected as Business Man of the Year by the Taft Chamber of Commerce in 2013. Manny is currently the Immediate past-President of the Chamber of Commerce service as a Director and a member of the Taft Union High School Hall of Fame Committee.
